I just visited Timber’s site…MAN….do you sleep under a rock…I never left here and if you look at the ENTIRE page you will see I have been staff here for awhile. Next off where do you get off being the Siskel and Ebert of Tradewars? I have alot of heartburn with that. People play where they want…whether it be where their friends play or where there corp plays or if the style of game that entices them…So to you Timber I will just say…. TWO THUMBS DOWN!

Would someone mind telling me if it’s safe to join egroups again? I mean, right before I left a few weeks ago, I felt like I was part of the Hindenburg disaster. The conversations basically ended like the following:

<SIGH> The conflict with the USO has brought itself back to eGroups. I won’t even get into that mess. WTC and BOTE are still going strong…will they ever end? Probably. Any time soon? Doubtful. I’m just looking forward to HHT, my first full-time, completely dedicated game in quite a while…probably since the last Title Game at Home Sector (which KARMA dominated by the way, no matter how hard or easy the competition was).Not much else going on the past couple of days that’s worth talking about. Looks like Rolo’s team for the HHT has a new line-up! The team now consists of Rolodex, Cruncher, Zoobar, EleqTrizi’T, Prestone, and hELLCAT. A fifth team has also signed up, General Products consisting of Kavanagh, Medusa, Nazwes Chaiwind, Adomma, Soylent Green, and Tweety. Not a bad team, some very strong players there. Eclipse has moved! The original owner has taken it offline and it has now moved to INTERGATE. Space Ghost will still be the operator, and you can now reach it at twgs.booinc.com or the original address of eclipse.ultranet.com!

FEN had an Internet problem today and was down for a little while, knocked out most of the main TW sites, but everything is back up and running now :).A fourth team enters the Haunted Halloween Tournament! It consists of Hornet, Cyrus, Timberwolf, Buzz Lightyear, Speedy, and Bart. I’ve only heard of four of them and only seen three of those four play, so I don’t know how they’ll compare to the other teams that are currently signed up. Also, rumor has it that Rolo’s team has already disbanded before the HHT even started. Bad Girl and Guardian are no longer on the crew and rumor also has it that everyone else has gone as well! Maybe we’ll see a couple of different teams form up from the remnants of Rolo’s squad.

eGroups has been a little boring lately…I have posted on there that I will not be attending the Vegas Convention this year :(. Financial situations came up and things got tight and I had to cancel my flight, etc. BUT good, news is that TWPA should be up and running sometime in the near future! More on that below in the Site Updates.

There are a lot of new TWGS systems popping up out of the blue lately. The TWGS software is a real bargain at only $80, and people seem to be buying it left and right…now everyone and their drunken uncle has a TWGS system running. I think it’s going to be hard for any to surpass those like Home Sector, Intergate, FAMENT, Frogland, Eclipse, Silver Wings, and Deep South, which seem to be the real popular ones these days.

Not much news coming from any of the major tournaments still going…WTC has been going for months upon months…BOTE for three and the Haunted Halloween Tournament is coming up soon. People are talking about the level of competition being on the line with these major games still running. Will some of the better, well-known players that are playing in BOTH of the others be involved with HHT as well? I guess we’ll see…there are still only a total of three teams signed up for HHT so far…

I have just filled a MIA report…Where the heck has Epicenter, Hellcat, Shark disappeared to, for starters. I know Fed Com hasn’t been the same or should I say a little quiet without Epi! If you find any of them, please deposit in the nearest mailbox, Stardock guarantees they will pay the postage.

Now that I’m back I began work on the TWGS Games page. This page contains the tentative game descriptions for the upcoming games to be hosted on the TRADEWARS.WS TWGS! I was having major connection troubles from home, so I didn’t get much else done. The September News Archives are now gone from the main News Archives page and moved to its own.Since people seem to be complaining about locations of the future conventions and not being able to make it to this year’s, I’m going to be working harder to complete the Trade Wars Players’ Association page. This should help take care of some of the whining that has been occurring recently. I finally have more free time once again now that I’ve launched the new web site at my place of employment last week, which was taking up almost all of my spare time in the evenings during the week. Things should start to happen a little quicker now…and I will also be participating in more TW games…and maybe even playing them out <gasp>.

I’ve also added a couple of servers to the server list and a new operator to the donations list…keep ’em coming in!! That’s it for now.

I’m back from my weekend in Pennsylvania…only a few things at the moment to update on…Only three corps signed up for the Haunted Halloween Tournament…Wolfpack just sent in a team! Come on folks what’s the problem here?? There are about two or three other corporations that will be registering a team for sure…is it going to be a low turnout? Will BK come back to defend their title? I guess we’ll have to see!

People are apparently complaining about next year’s TW2002 Convention being held in Virginia Beach, VA. I don’t see anyone else taking the time to sort all of this out, find hotels, and try to keep everyone from waiting until the last minute to sign up like Bad Girl, Eleq, and Cruncher have. Some of you have no real right to be complaining. Not sure what this year’s convention will turn out like, but I’m sure it will be fun no matter what. If it happens to be a bad event, then I’m sure next year’s will be better! Have faith people, come on. If you have a problem with locations, etc., then host your own TW meeting…or wait for the TWPA to start up (hint, hint).

Also, another thing about whiners…Hekate made a very good point. If most of you hadn’t waited until the last minute to book flights and reserve hotel rooms, they would not be so expensive. This convention has been planned for about a year now, if not more. Six months ago, the entire trip probably would have cost about a quarter of the price, give or take a little. Next year’s convention *WILL* be in Virginia Beach. Get your rooms and flights now, or start saving and pick em up in six months and you won’t have this problem next year.

EleqTrizi’T has posted some very interesting news over at Home Sector. TW account crackers, BEWARE! Word is there have been hack attacks happening recently and still occurring up until this weekend.The ‘Top Gun’ game over at Silver Wings is now underway. I decided to be a part of the game and must say that I’m having fun playing. I haven’t been playing games that much recently, so it’s something to help me get back on my feet. Even though I died today while SSM’ing and making my dinner at the same time (big mistake), I think I’ll stick with it until I use my other three lives.

Only a month until the Haunted Halloween Tournament! Does anyone have the ballz to stand up to the already signed up competition of KARMA and Rolo’s crew?
