I’m going to restructure the page layout and the way I display certain things, so big changes could possibly happen. I’m going to try and keep it as close as possible to the current design, but ya never know!League page has been updated with the new board election information! Check it out! TWPA stuff is coming along well…shouldn’t be too much longer until it is posted and ready to go. The server may be thrown back anywhere from a month to three months. I have decided not to host it from my place of employment, but to wait until I get cable modem access and run it from home. The server should be a rocking one and I can’t wait to get it up there!

Supposedly Soul/Hell Razor has resigned from Silver Wings. There was a dispute in the TradeWarriors eGroup…things were thrown out of proportion, other things weren’t explained, and in my opinion there was a lot of miscommunication. The tenth and eleventh teams have entered the Haunted Halloween Tournament! The first team, The Dark, consists of Peacemaker (CEO), GPC, Hammer, Leila, Mirkath, and Morgan. The second consists of Zex0s, Hoot Owl, Kestrel, Hell Razor, Madill, and BigJohn. I’ve heard of Peacemaker’s team, but who is that second team? The only one I know of is Hell Razor…should be interesting 😀

Haunted Halloween Tournament Update!
The ninth team has entered the HHT! The Rebel Alliance consisting of Stonewall (Red CEO), Moldar, Chunky, Oso, Devil Dog (Blue CEO), and Neo. This is a team to watch out for!

John Pritchett and I had a discussion going on how to improve TWGS performance even more. My theory was the hard drives may be playing a big role in overall system speed, he disagreed. So I setup a RAM drive (meaning an emulated hard drive that is based ENTIRELY in memory), to see if it helped. The purpose was to eliminate the slow access time of the hard drive from the equation. To my surprise, a system with a RAM drive was SLOWER! This is completely opposite to any other benchmark ever seen with a RAM drive v.s. Hard drive. All this means is that the TWGS simply doesn’t access the hard drive often enough for it to play a significant role in performance. Windows already does a great job of caching things in memory, making a RAM drive irrelevant. Look at the results..

Not much to say at this point on this glorious (yet cold) Monday. Not too much activity in the TW2002 eGroup as of late. Talk about web page hits, etc. People leaving as usual, but will be back within a matter of days — they always come back (they can’t live without the irresistable charm that flows through that eGroup <G>).

Family Entertainment Network will be banging a new game this Saturday, October 14th! Only news on the settings so far is that it will be a 20,000 sector game with gold ship and alien edits! Be sure to check it out!

A sixth team has signed up for the HHT! ‘The Motley Crew’ consisting of Troll, Monkey, Lindsay, Dunbar, Havoc, and Duncan has now been thrown in the mix! Get those teams in today! The tournament starts in 23 days!!
