So I’m deciding to make the WTC a voluntary donation. And of the voluntary donations, at least half will go to a pay-out for the winners, but only if they also donated. The payout will also be based on the amount of each donation.

Not too long ago, our computers suffered major damage during a power surge. The surge devastated components throughout three different computers and made a mockery of our surge protectors. I was able to throw together parts to get two of the three machines working again, but in the end I was left with well over $700 in damaged equipment that needed to be replaced.

Without thinking twice, I made the trip out of town to a computer show where I picked up everything I needed. I returned home to find a slew of ICQ’s and emails that I did NOT appreciate. People badgering me to get the server back up, and some outright telling me I “sucked” as a sysop because of it.

I rebuilt the BBS, but decided to not resume service. Instead, I made my famous post from last month (viewable in our archives) expressing my anger over the unappreciative messages I had gotten.

Almost immediately, Bruce Davey (Dr. Bad) fired off a donation to help with the costs. Others soon followed. Within three days, I had almost half of what I needed. Overall, since then I’ve received OVER the $700 dollars needed for the computer. I put the rest of the money aside for ISP bills, put some towards my door game server (which hasn’t been deployed because I don’t own any doors), and bought a few much-needed programming books.

My wife and I would like to express our deepest appreciation for all those who have donated. The support has been absolutely overwhelming, and we cannot thank everyone enough. We are not exactly rolling in money, so every little bit helps. My wife finally understands why I love being apart of this community.

Fuseblown, I don’t know where I’d be without him. No one has any idea what kind of talent this man possesses when it comes to websites.

Nazwes Chaiwind has told me Mission NightHawk reopens Saturday the 28th. New address is nighthawk.bbsnet.ca, core BBS is in test phase, TWGS is being built today. I’ll get more details from Naz as he progresses in the rebuilding. Barring any unforseen problems, Naz expects to bang a few games on that day. More info coming soon.

Has been postponed until later today…I’m having problems with the Perl script and it saving the data correctly using the voting form. We’re working on it. I’ll post when all is up and working. Sorry for the wait.

Looks to me like Hammer and Zelda have won the Retribution game on Stardock BBS…are there are objections? Let me know. If I don’t hear from anyone in the next day or so, they will be declared the winners.

Fyreburn talked to me today and told me that he’s going to take Route 66 down for 3-5 days to do an overhaul on the system and to work on some new game edits, etc. So if you try to connect to his server from our main BBS menu, that is why. We’ll keep you all updated on the return.

Hello all after being out of BBSing for a few years I have decided to
run one again, with a TWGS rlogin also, the BBS is set up and so are
a few Door games, the TWGS is also set up with 2 games for now. I
will be re-banging all games doors and TWGS on May 1st and I am
starting off the TWGS with a nice 20K sector unlimited turn, high
edit, 4 hours a day game. this game is set up as a practice game
right now and will re-bang on the first. (my wifes labor pending of

Yesterday, the The Stardock’s Lufwaffe forces made a sneak attack on the country of Route 66. After a few minutes of Kung-fu fighting, Route 66 was forced to bow to The Stardock’s superior shaolin style. But now that The Stardock owns the land occupied by Route 66, it leaves open for an easy future attack on TWlinks.com.In a nutshell, Route 66 decided to merge with The Stardock. Now you can only play their games on the The Stardock…. which also has it’s own games. Make sense? Didn’t think so. And here you thought my story about them merging with AOL-Time Warner was a joke.

A powerful new server started up last week called Trade Wars: Route 66. We have linked to this new TWGS from our main menu on Stardock BBS. The admin/web master of this new server is Fyreburn and Cerberus is the sysop. Go check it out!
