Interesting what happens in the course of a day. I've made my voice known about the Tradewars egroups. If you haven't been following, here's a recap: original tw2002 egroups good. Egroups erupts in a flamewar a few months ago that still hasn't stopped. Hulk unsubscribe from egroups. Hulk look for new home. Hulk finally find new home! Today, [Aitvo](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.intergate.cx/), created a brand new tradewars egroup with the promise, "You won't HAVE to set a filter in this one..." You see, this forum is moderated. A few hours after this new group was announced, [John Pritchett](https://eisonline.classictw.com/) gave the forum is blessing, so it is now The [Official Tradewars 2002 egroups forum](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.egroups.com/subscribe/tradewars_2002). Before you start making remarks about how "The Man" is impeding your self evolution by moderating the forum, I think you need to take a look at [the policy](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.egroups.com/message/tradewars_2002/61). So go ahead and [subscribe](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.egroups.com/subscribe/tradewars_2002)! We won't ban you... at least not unless you start a flamewar.

Well the TW2000 Convention held in Las Vegas this past weekend was a great success. After talking to Space Ghost and Eleq they both had such positive, happy and funny tales to tell. After viewing the pics (which can be seen on [Eleq's](/)and [Hekate's](/files/Site%20Caps/TWLinks/index.html) pages) it makes us a little jealous that we were not there. Poor Space Ghost tho...the first time he has left the keys since Bote started and BAM!!! he is murdered for the last time...But he did set a record for himself...I believe it was staying in a tournament for 107 days...you heard me..107 days...the guy thinks he is unstopable now..hahaha! Yes folks, the WTC is still going on..its down to 2 corps, The Good, Bad and Indifferent (mine, curtseying)and those other guys (whispering> the huns..hopefully it will be over soon (G) The HHT starts in 6 days and 13 teams have registered. What are you folks waiting for??? If you haven't signed up yet, get your team together and enter. Good job Eleq! If any of you out there belong to E-groups you surely understand the S$%^ that has been flying around there. Thank god for filtering! I hope soon we will get back on track in there and start talking about TW again. I still am a firm believer of an unmoderated forum. Yes there should be someone to validate but that is all. Just my opinion and not that of this station! Also, if you get a chance go read Timber's page. I think he has finally found his nitch in life..that of a soap opera writer...its quite funny.

With all of the talk of the TW Convention 2000, I have decided to double my efforts on the TWPA project. Had I made it to the convention this past weekend I would have been able to explain my idea to the group there, but for now, I have sent out an e‑mail to a couple of east coast TW players with my idea and a proposal to meet to discuss the project in more detail and to get more user input and leadership (besides myself) behind the concept of the TWPA. I will be adding more people to the contact list for the TWPA in the future once there is a firm foundation established for the association (i.e., goals, plans, etc.). Revisions, added ideas, etc. can be added from there. Some of you people are jumping way ahead of me here and it's hard to keep up. I know there are plans for a couple of other meetings in the works across the country. I would like the TWPA to be able and help make it a constant thing.

I'm hearing about a lot of good things that came out of the TW Convention 2000. Lots of ideas flowing and that's a VERY good thing. A couple of the attendees have taken pictures and will be posting them on the 'net sometime in the near future. People are finally coming back from the first annual Trade Wars 2002 Convention held in Las Vegas! Everyone has said that it was a good time and now I really regret that I missed it :(. Oh well next year will be a different story...I *will* see all of you in Virginia Beach next October! [Intergate](telnet://bbs.intergate.cx) is rebanging four games starting tonight at 6pm EST, two of them are brand new! Aitvo wants us to fill the server so let's see what we can do! Oh the flames have started again. It seems that when certain people enter the TW2002 eGroup the proverbial substance hits the fan. Hard to tell how long this one will last. I'm staying out of it this time. I have better things to do. Word has it that Hekate took a digital camera to Las Vegas for the convention this weekend! It seems that Timber has an ongoing Trade Wars soap opera...check out the site to see who the first lucky group is! Congratulations to **Guardian** for being the winner! Macahan came in 2nd, Space Ghost 3rd, and Dark Helmet was 4th. The League may be adding two new board positions in the future, but that has yet to be decided. More information on that and more as it comes in on the wire! A new league game will begin on the last Saturday of this month (Oct. 28th). HHT will be starting soon after this and the league game will probably lack in players a little bit. If you're down on the bottom the rankings along with me (I have good reasons for that), then this might be your chance to gain a few more points to catch up! A couple of people are heading out today and it should be a fun time! Those of you that missed out (including me) are going to miss a fun time. Don't fret! Just start planning now for next year's convention to be held in Virginia Beach, Va. in the beginning of October! If you get your rooms and tickets now things will be REAL cheap! Silver Wings is going to stay alive. I think the fighting finally died down in the TradeWarriors group and things seem to be going a little smoother now. The Server List has been the topic of discussion lately with Soul/Hell Razor's recent retirement from [Silver Wings](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.alaweb.com/%7Efreespirit1/Main.html). Don't fret, it's staying right where it is. I am however going to be changing it around a little bit and adding new information to be listed on the server pages. This should not change or effect the current ratings in any way. It will just provide players with more information about each of the servers. Don't be suprised if you check out the site sometime in the near future and it looks completely different. I'm going to restructure the page layout and the way I display certain things, so big changes could possibly happen. I'm going to try and keep it as close as possible to the current design, but ya never know!
