RSS Feed seems fairly popular, so I updated it slightly with anchor tags and set the limit to 15 stories.
Don’t forget, TWGS Search has RSS Feeds for your favorite type of games.

ElderProphet seems to have taken point on further TWX development. Read about it over at the Grimy Trader.
TWX forum archives are online and searchable. Have a look. For future reference, they are part of the Library and can always be found easily.
Hello everyone. I just wanted to drop a note about this DVD set I bought, called BBS: The Documentary. If you’re an old-time BBS user, you’ll think it’s well worth the price. I’ve watched only half of the first DVD so far, and it’s great.
It’s really entertaining to watch them talk about the old-school flame wars they had, not unlike what we still experience today. And BTW, when I say “old-school”, I mean predating people my age (28+/-). I’d be a newbie with these old guys!
Great stuff. There are a few video clips in the link above, check it out.
I’ve never heard of this. It’s currently free. To be honest, I’m thinking it might have to stay free to compete. Would anyone buy a helper anymore now that TWXProxy is open source, and sites like Grimy Trader will hook you up with what you need?
I struck a deal with Xide to bring the TWX site forum archives over to The Stardock. I pitched him like this.. “Hey I have a place to put them”. He responded, “Cool, I’ll send them over”. Anyway, the good news is the archive will be searchable once it’s added to my Library.
On a side note, I managed to compile TWX with Delphi 2005. I’ve never really used a GUI programming app before, so it was quite an accomplishment for me. What gets me is that Xide’s distributed TWXProxy.exe is like 800k, while my compiled version was over 4 megs. I’m tempted to learn just enough Pascal to port it to Linux. But that’s just wishful dreaming at this point.
I’m not sure myself if TW is indeed dying. Personally, I think that it’s neither growing or dying… just stagnating. In my view, the new amount of people entering and staying with the game, offset the people leaving. And yes, I am Optimistic.
But the one thing that is dying is the image of Tradewars. Even from my standpoint, Tradewars is still just as fun as it was before, but the image of TW is nothing like it was in the BBS era. This is something we need to work on.
One way we can help the image is by getting younger players… and just more players period into the game. Some of you have probably wondered (As have I) why there are not many new players going into the game. The answer is simple… it’s because of us! A lot of times, we destroy people’s home sectors which pose no threat to us. Why do we do it? Is it because it’s fun? Is it because they destroyed our tolls, or is it because someone paid us to do it? Unfortunatelly, I can say yes to those three examples. Whatever the reason, this is something that needs to be stoped. The only people that pose a threat to good tradewars players are other good tradewars players. TW is like Donkey Kong. Climbing the ladders are easy until the 900 lb. Gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.
That analogy perfectly describes what some newbies are going through. While the concept of TW is easily learned, your not going to stand a chance against the big gorillas Cross-port trading. It takes time to learn the skills of planetary trading, Turn Management and the like. And if there’s a gorilla on your back, how effective will your learning be?
Sorry I’m late for the weekend update to the gallery, but I found a TON of stuff, so it took me awhile to post.
First, the updates:
New MP3’s! Interview with Gypsy, a rant about me, and a shortened Space Ghost interview. Also added time marks to some interesting stuff in the files, however, there’s a lot I didn’t mark that’s interesting, too.
Here’s some old content that got its images fixed:
Cheap Shots,
DE Corp page,
Las Vegas TW2000 Convention,
Computer benchmarks (with an update!).
I have some more stuff going online this weekend, including a few more interviews from WEJL, including one with Gypsy as the guest. I also have some more artwork and a few pictures to post.
Micro’s TW Page. Micro was the first to have a TWGS Search-like function, so we can’t take credit for the idea.
What was really neat to me is that Alien Base is the only TWGS to have made it onto both searches. That’s about a four year gap. Does that make Alien Base the oldest active TWGS on the net?
