Over the weekend I will be adding a new page to the site for the Trade Wars Players' Association. What is the TWPA you ask? Well, you'll just have to wait and find out now won't you?!
Our official TWGS will be going up sometime next week I hope. It will be located in a temporary location until I finally get my DSL installed at my house (if Bell Atlantic would just show up for their !@#$ing appointments). I already have a helper or two to setup and op games, so there's no need to be eโmailing me about the position.
And yes, I'm still working on those bloody forms...
Frogland will be rebanging Game G on Saturday, September 23, at 6pm (PST). Game G will be a money game with one person per corp. Also, sometime next week (either Wednesday or Thursday) Frogland will be rebanging another game which has yet to be decided. Check 'em out! ([telnet://bbs.frogland.net](telnet://bbs.frogland.net))
By the way, if any of you folks out there have new games starting or old one rebanging, don't hesitate to eโmail us and let us know to put an announcement up here on the main page! If your server is not listed on the server list, then send your info. on over and we'll add your server on that page as well!

TWGS - New Version
by EleqTrizi'T on 2000-09-20 | Categories: TWGS Software, TradeWars News
The newest version of TWGS has been released (v1.01.36)...check the [TWGS Updates](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://eisonline.classictw.com/) page for downloads and information from EIS. As new bugs and problems are found I will try to keep up with them and add those to the page.
Site Update
by Fuseblown on 2000-09-18 | Categories: TradeWars.ws, Site News, People, TradeWars News
Proven fact: Female TWarriors prefer younger, beta test men over older hardware. Here is what's being said:
Fuseblown - "They also like younger men <clears throat> that might as well be older, more mature men."
Hekate - "YEP...kinda like Fuseblown and EleqTrizi'T? <G>"
Bad Girl - "ROFL..I like em younger myself!"
There ya have it folks...new case study shows that younger TWarriors are what keeps those female TWarriors on the (trade) warpath!
The site is now live. To see past news from the last week that I have been working on the site, go to the [News Archives](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.tradewars.ws/archives/index.htm). I will also be adding an option or two tomorrow sometime...one is a future project of mine that may interest a lot of you TW2002 players out there. Keep checking back for more information on those. Also, I'm getting lots of positive feedback on the site...I'm glad my multiple redesigns and hard work seemed to have paid off. I'm really going to be pushing for original content that hopefully you will not find elsewhere.
TWGS, Egroups

The [TWGS Updates](https://eisonline.classictw.com/) and got his approval to be an official mirror for the new releases of TWGS beginning with v1.01.36. My updates page is basically what you will find on the EIS site, except that I'll try to keep up with new bugs and problems and keep those updated on the page also.
I am going to begin work on the TRADEWARS.WS [TWGS](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.tradewars.ws/twgs/index.htm) page. It will contain the game settings, etc. of all of the games that the server will have when it launches. I have found a couple of temporary hosting solutions for the server for right now and it shouldn't be long until it goes online.
The [Strategy](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.tradewars.ws/strategy.htm) section of the site will be offline for the time being while I write the material that will be presented.
The rest of the menu options (Server List, Sysop Donations, File Vault, and About Us) should be finished by the end of the night or tomorrow sometime. Keep checking back.
Will people ever learn to keep their bleedin' arguments out of eGroups? If you are subscribed to the TW2002 eGroup, you'll know what I'm talkin' about. It seems that those that started the whole flame war have dropped out and it has moved on to new contestants and become something completely off-subject (as usual) It will never end...oh well, it's kinda fun to watch . Amazingly, no one has tried to (unsuccessfully) unsubcribe from the group, which happens just about everytime a flame war begins. Get those filters ready...you're gonna need 'em!
SETI, EIS

If you haven't been keeping up on your TW2002 eGroups postings then you wouldn't know that Eleq has started a [Trade Wars 2002](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/stats/team/team_85612.html SETI@home group (image link on the left menu bar). So far there are 7 members including myself. Join now, it's free and the software can be set to run only when the screensaver is active or you may let it run all of the time. Help in the search for E.T. life out there!
The [News Archives](https://www.tradewars.ws/archives/index.htm page is up and running. I have decided the the two latest posts in each update section here on the main page will remain and all others shall go to the archives page. At the beginning of every new month I will compile the news from the previous month and make a seperate page for each month to keep the load time down in on the main archives page. If you've been to the [EIS Support Forum](https://www.eisonline.com/TWForum/default.htm, you will know what I mean...the archives system will be similar to the [EIS forum archives](https://www.eisonline.com/TWForum/Archives.htm. Thanks to MacAhan I have my CGI forum up and going, but it still needs some customization work done before I put it up. Things should be done and ready to go by the end of the weekend.
Home Sector Fund Raising Birthday Bash Drive
by EleqTrizi'T on 2000-09-14 | Categories: TradeWars News, TWGS Servers, Site News
Today is my wife's birthday, and next week is mine. So, to celebrate I am going to agressively pursue some donations for the next few weeks. I have a Pay-pal account now, and you can set one up quite easily at [PayPal.com.](https://web.archive.org/web/20001019091247/https://www.x.com/) You even get $5 dollars just for signing up (send that to me, too :D)
I am looking for all those appreciative people who always write me about how great I am, how great my server is, and how pretty my momma is, to send their contribution to the most popular server on the internet. I've been doing this for a year and a half now, and have done it out of my own expenses for all that time.
Need more reasons to donate? How about these...
- A 1,600 Megahertz, dual-Pentium-3 monster to run a TWGS, paid for by yours truly.
- A website with great content. Most of the information is completely unique and found nowhere else. Strategy, information, and...
- SCRIPTS! Don't forget, The Home Sector got the ZOC revolution rolling.
- TWGS Development. By helping the Home Sector, you are helping EIS indirectly. We have been a Beta site ever since we opened. Testing the latest and greatest patches before anyone else. As we speak, even though it's not displayed, our players are in a version .36 candidate.
- Trade Wars Focus Point. Let's face it, great players gather at The Home Sector. No where is the competition so strong.
- World TradeWars Championship. Hosting what is probably agreed to be the single hardest, most exciting, universally loved tournament ever. And next year's will be that much better! IF you're a WTC player, maybe you could show some appreciation :D.
I've managed to not toot my own horn too much the past few months, but this is a special occassion. I easily spend 1-3 hrs on my server each day. I answer up to 20 emails a day, countless ICQ's, help out in two different forums to get other sysops up and running and to get players the knowledge they seek. I guess what I'm trying to say is this... I just don't see ANYONE working as hard as I am for this community.
Another round of thanks goes to The Home Sector's current donors.. Bad Girl, Speedy, Barnhill, Big D, Timberwolf.
Out of Town
by Fuseblown on 2000-09-13 | Categories: TradeWars.ws, Site News, TradeWars News
I have been in Chicago since Sunday morning...just got back on last Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning. More work shall be completed today and/or tonight for sure. I'm working on the CGI that I'm going to need for the forms, etc. Just have a few bugs to work out before those are completed. Once everything is figured out, the Forums, File Vault, GuestBook, and Feedback Form will all be completed and rolling. Keep checking back for more. Oh, and I will be adding a News Archive for both the Universal and Site updates...so be looking for that also. I'm going to try and keep the main page limited to the two latest updates in each section.
Well it has been decided that the Excalibur in Las Vegas will be TW Convention H.Q. They need 20 people to reserve rooms in order to get the cheaper group rate. So far only 4 or 5 people have reserved rooms...go to the convention site, e-mail Eleq or Bad Girl and let them know you are going and staying at the Excalibur!! I am also 95% sure that I will be attending...thanks go to Hekate ([TWLINKS.COM](/files/Site%20Caps/TWLinks/index.html)) for helping me find a cheap airfare from Baltimore!
WORD OF THE DAY!
by Bad Girl on 2000-09-10 | Categories: TradeWars News
The word of the day is brought to you by EleqTrizi'T:
ELEQTRIQSIDE: The ability to photon pass huge amount of figs and slide into enemy territory and cause great destruction with just a little Trizi'T, all this while DISCO music plays in the background!
Convention, Updates

Last minute decisions for the Las Vegas TW2002 convention are still being discussed. It's hard to tell what's going to happen from this point. No one can decide which hotel they're going to stay at and basically it's just a big mess. There's also talk about next year's convention being located in Virginia Beach, VA. Luckily for me, I'm only a few hours from there. Visit the [official TW2002 convention site](/files/Site%20Caps/TWCon2000/index.html) hosted by the [Home Sector](/).
As you can see, things are still being worked on. Hopefully things will get done within the next couple of weeks. I'll be travelling a good bit for work this month, so time will be tight once again. The TWGS will *not* be up this month, that's guaranteed...I'm still working out the details on that. Also, the strategy section of the web site will not be completed by the end of this month either.
