[TW Extreme](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.tw-extreme.com) has added the M.i.P. to their web site. You can vote for a most improved player every month to be featured on their site. Kinda like the Player/Server of the Month that I did on my old TW site (before TRADEWARS.WS), but never quite got it rolling. Head on over and vote for players from the current W Game featured on [The Deep South](telnet://thedeepsouth.yi.org).

No News is Good News (...I Guess)
by Fuseblown on 2000-12-11 | Categories: TradeWars News, TradeWars.ws
Seems like things are pretty slow in the TW universe right now. Most TW sites out there haven't had updates for a few days, so I'm actually going around today and trying to dig up what news I can find from servers, message archives, etc.
update
by Kitty Moon on 2000-12-11 | Categories: Game Play, Site News, TradeWars News
Icehawk and myself have started on our next project, which will hopefully become the final word in Trade Wars Players Guides--focusing at first on the standard mode TWGS game and later encompassing MBBS compatibility mode as well. As soon as the first couple sections of mostly introductory stuff is finished, it will be available from the Library area, and as new sections are completed they will be made available for browsing immediately. I'd like to request help from anyone with suggestions or comments regarding the guide.. whether its proofreading the first drafts, correcting errors regarding game play tips/strategies, etc. The basis of the guide will be taken from Someguy's Manual, Iago's War Manual, Slice's Trade Wars Guide, Xelian Field Manual, and several other more obscure and arcade TW 2002 tomes, but all information presented will be updated to reflect the changes made after the v3 series and TWGS was released.
All told, the guide looks like it might become an immense portion of the web site, and will have links to reference material, such as the planetary and standard ship database, which are already available from the library section. Although a updated player's guide has been one of my top priorities for the site, it only made sense to have the appropriate reference materials in place before tackling a much larger and complex project.

Java based helper

Goosemoose has announced that it has the world's first web based tradewars helper. However, they forgot to mention that it's also the world's first web based helper that **DOESN'T WORK.** At least not for me. [Try it out.](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.goosemoose.com/tradewars/connecttw.htm) Maybe you have better luck.
Addium - I actually have gotten it work after a reboot.
Add Another Linux Freak to the Mix
by Mana Knight on 2000-12-06 | Categories: TradeWars.org, TWGS Software, TWGS Servers
EleqTrizi'T, the leader of his own cult, has decided to move the [Home Sector](/)to linux. It will now be running using Andrew "Linux Guy" Wyatt's [FusionGS](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.intergate.cx/) to give it a more BBS feel. TradeWars will be unaffected, but you'll have access to extra things such as possibly other games and a teleconference.
Great, just what I need. Another Linux freak who will sit around for hours discussing the finer points about how [User Friendly](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.userfriendly.org/) is greatest work of satirical writing since the great bard Shakespeare put quill to parchment. At least I get a teleconference out of the deal.

Nav Haz Unltd. Back in Action
by Fuseblown on 2000-12-04 | Categories: TradeWars News, TradeWars.ws
My first corporation that I joined/co-founded has come back for some more action at the most recent league game. The corporation currently consists of myself, DarkOne, Darth Vader, Deathwing (all 4 are core members), Illusion, and Guardian (both of which are affiliates for the current league game). We used to play over at [Pisces Network](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.piscessoft.com) for about 8-9 months before we began to spread out more in the whole TW scene. We are looking to form a team for the USO coming up in February. At the moment only the core members are going to be on the tourny team and we're working on prospecting for two more people to join up for the upcoming tournament. If you're interested, drop me an e-mail defining your skills and knowledge, etc. and we will take you into consideration.

So far there has been a good turnout and if you haven't started in there, you still have this week to get in there! The game will close after Saturday and will no longer be excepting entries. If you're not already a member of the TW League, I suggest you head over to [their site](https://web.archive.org/web/20000000000000*/https://www.twleague.com) and sign-up today!
TW League Section
by Fuseblown on 2000-12-04 | Categories: Site News, TradeWars.ws
The TW League section of the site is going to be temporarily unavailable. I want to get it updated and revamp it a little bit. It should be back up soon.
