# Rules & Information [](<https://web.archive.org/web/20010713153643/https://home1.gte.net/jack8662/display.htm>) 1) Only one nomination ballot, and one voting ballot will be accepted per person. 2) Your entry must include your Real Name, Game Name, and E-Mail Address. All info given will be kept private, no info will be given out. 3) Web based E-Mail addresses will not be accepted. 4) Each received nomination ballot, and voting ballot will be verified before adding to the totals. 5) Your nomination ballot, or voting ballot can contain any, or all of the listed categories. (Remember Rule #1) 6) Nominations will begin on 03/17/2000, and will close on 03/31/2000. Any nominations received after this time will not be considered. 7) Voting will begin on 04/02/2000, and will close on 04/15/2000. Any ballots recieved after this time will not be considered. 8) The number of voting choices in each category will be based on the amount of nominations received. 9) Nomination totals for the top nominees will be posted during the Voting period. However, the overall totals will not be posted until after the Voting has been completed. 10) The nominee in each category with the most votes will win the award. An "Honorable Mention" will be given in case of an extremely close voting outcome. (See Rule #11 for exceptions) 11) The Hall Of Fame, or Citadel Award, can be awarded to more than one person. This will be determined by the amount of nominations, and votes recieved. 12) A person is eligible to win in more than one category. 13) Ballots can contain up to three (3) Nominations for each category. Any Nomination ballots containing over three nominations in a category, will not have that category counted. Any other valid nominations on the same ballot will be accepted. 14) Ballots can contain only one (1) vote for a nominee, in each category. 15) Any Voting ballots containing more than one vote in a category, will not have that category vote counted. Any other valid votes on the same ballot will counted. 16) Please specify which category you are nominating a person(s) for, or which category they are in when you are voting for them. 17) A person cannot nominate, himself or herself. 18) You can vote for yourself, if you make the Voting ballot. 19) The link to cast your ballots is on the bottom of the left side bar. Stardock Award This award will be given to the person voted as the Most Valuable Player. This is the person who you feel is the most valuable player in TradeWars. This could be due to their knowledge of the game, ability to adapt to any game style of play, ability to adapt to the many game variations or edits, ability to play either alignment extremely efficiently, ability to comprehend the current status of the game, mastery of the available game resources, responses to current game situations as they occur, or just plain total game control and domination. Best TradeWars Helper This award will be given to the Best Helper Program. This award is to honor the favorite Helper that you feel is the best available for playing TradeWars. This is the program you will usually play with and use regularly. Some players have a few helpers that they use, we want you to choose which one is the best. (Note: While Zoc, and a few other programs allow you to write and use powerful scripts, it is still not a helper program, and as such, and will not be accepted in this category.) Grimy Award This award will be given to the person voted as The Best Hunter. This is the person who you feel is the best player tracker, or hunter. This can include the ability to find players using the ports status, using The Grimy Trader at stardock, shooting Ether Probes to locate players or blocked sectors, or the ability to find "hidden" bases or planets. This could be due to game settings, different edits to balance the game or make it more challenging, always helpful and listens to the players input, settles any disputes promptly and fairly, puts out that extra effort to help make the game fun, and enjoyable for everyone that plays. Cone Of Silence Award This award will be given to the person voted as Most Likely To Make You Turn Off Fed Comm. This is the person who usually causes you to turn off, or makes you want to turn off your Fed Comm channel when they are online. The causes for this are widespread, and we will not go any further into that discussion. (Please do not send any reasons, as well founded as they may be.) # Terra Award This award will be given to the person voted as The Planet Farmer. This is the person who you feel is the best planet "farmer". This can include creating the correct planet types for use in the game, colonizing the planets, obtaining goods and upgrading planets as needed. This player is will almost always be playing as a blue, and will keep their experience points below 1000, so they can park safely in Fed Space. Will frequently enter the game for purposes of gathering information about the game, as well as study what is going on in the game. This person might go as far as to write scripts for themselves, as well as teammates, or others to use and benefit from. Also, may provide services, and information to others, such as hosting a web site, or forum.
