The game will start this Saturday, 3pm eastern time at TERRA (terra.twlinks.com).
Max corp size is 3, and at least 3 teams need to sign up by tomorrow night. If there are not enough teams by tomorrow, the start date will be pushed back until there are enough teams.

- 45 minute time limit (this is a casual game, no time limit subverting bots)
- port regen - 100%
- no death limit
- no aliens
- no rob delay, no probe delay, no ship delay
- 3 second photons, multi-fire ON, fed photons ON
- 100k starting colos, 10k/day regen
- 100 traders/fed sector
- 0% cloak fail
- 80% port density, 90% initial
- 40% planet density, 2000 ships
- 50% rob factor, 70% steal factor, 100% planet trade
- mostly stock, with a few gold edits
... improved battleship - 40k figs, 10k wave, Transwarp, 2 photons
... interdictor cruiser can land.
... improved earth class - 3:1 equip, 2:1 figs (6:1 final fig ratio), max 300k products, max 300k colonists per product.
- Extern at Terra is at 12:30am Pacific - 3:30am Eastern.

Friday, June 27th at 7pm Pacific Time, The Stardock BBS will open once again! However, you will not have to wait long to test the BBS. BBS testing will begin IMMEDIATELY in two stages...
The BBS is open NOW running the TWGS in demo mode. Nothing special here other than to get reaquainted with the BBS software, remember your passwords and to get a feel for the system and its speed. ALL ACCOUNTS up to September of 2001 are still active!
The next stage will be testing some new software that will allow me some control over the users of the TWGS. I hope to enforce timelimits with AUTHORITY thanks to a front-end BBS program. I also hope to finally integrate BBS-wide paging straight into the TWGS. During this phase, I will be banging some games to actually play and goof off with.
Then on Friday, June 27th, the TWGS will close and reopen with MASSIVE, the wildly popular game I closed on (Sorry about that...ok not really..), and some unlimited turn action with the brand new game, Res IBitchAlota. More games will be banged in the days after the official reopening.

TWGS Update

I've just purchased some new hardware for the upcoming Home Sector TWGS. I've got an AMD 2600+ with 1 gig DDR to host the games, which is really overkill, but oh well. Hardware is cheap, what can I say?
So when are things going to be up? Soon, that's all that I'll say.

Active Paradise game

I banged Paradise about a week ago, and haven't really checked in on it until this morning. To my surprise, there are 28 active players. As is always the case with Paradise, colo regen is set to match the number of players in the game, so it is now 28k/day.
If you are looking for a fun and relatively new game to join, this one is shaping up to be pretty good. 5k sectors, 500 turns, and nice planets/ships.

CK Combat Script Pack to be released

I have decided that I will make many of my combat scripts available in
a CK Combat Script Pack. Purchase of a license will be required. I'll

next few days.
There are many reasons for the licensing requirement.
1. It puts a little money in my pocket to BEGIN to compensate me for
all of the hours I've spent making my scripts as good as they are. I'm
not going to get rich, but I might get enough back to pay for my
dedicated TWGS server, which would be a very pleasant outcome.
2. It limits the usage of these high powered scripts only to those who
are interested enough to put their money where their mouth is.
3. It encourages Registration of TWX Proxy. My combat script pack will
only work for Registered TWX users.
4. It will encourage me to continue writing TWX scripts for the public.
This includes both free scripts (like my SDT script that over 60 people
are now using) and licensed scripts.
Initially, the CK Combat Script Pack will include:
A Pdrop script with a variety of options.
A Super Photon script with a variety of options.
A Ship Cap script, which works extremely well, but has limited options
that will probably be expanded in the coming weeks.
A Lawnmow script to clear sector figs very quickly.
A Sector Surround script to prevent your enemy's pod from fleeing
...and a few other utlity type scripts that the combat scripts need.

2 new games open tomorrow night at 10 pm eastern.
Paradise 50k - Paradise edits, 50k turns, 20k sectors.
30 minute STOCK - NO Gold, NO mbbs, everything is PURE stock except for the 30 minute time limit. Yes, this means 250 turns, 1000 sectors, no photons, 5% port regen... the ONLY thing I am changing from a default big bang is the 30 minute time limit. No game monitoring (by script or by hand) to circumvent the time limit. Play your 30 minutes and log off till the next day.
Starting tomorrow night, the new web registration system will be in place for new accounts. Email will no longer be required.
